The aim of CIBERDEM is to increase the quality and quantity of scientific production in the field of diabetes, focussing on the transfer of knowledge and technology from pure research to clinical applications. To this end, CIBERDEM, within its plan of action, has set up several strategic transversal projects.

The most relevant projects are Telemed-diabetes Study, Di@bet.es Study and CIBERDEM Projects. These initiatives facilitate collaboration on complex questions relating to diabetes and associated metabolic disorders and lead to results which research groups would be unable to achieve if working independently.
